Daddy promised all his girls a new dress if they quit sucking their thumbs.

Now he showing off how we could look like princesses, and have our royality.

Just eat your crickets whole and raw.

Her friend must be hard of hearing.

She has asked till she’s blue in the face.

Crickets, Powered like flour, sift away dry itchy skin, and drift away to the ballroom dance, great on the feet, and leaves them smelling sweet.

Here in America, we prefer baseball flour.

I’m happy to eat lots of strange things, but thus far insects have been off the menu. And that’s not likely to change in my lifetime, absent the zombie apocalypse.

One can only wonder what she’s hiding beneath that dress.

You missed Holi by a few days, dear… but the cricket season is just getting under way.

I just can’t stop looking at this image!

I’ve got a soft spot for blue jays, after a couple of fledglings spent a lot of time at our bird bath and deck in 2017. They let me get very close to take a lot of photos, as they tried repeatedly to hop from the deck railing, down to the bird bath right below it. (We said that their mom had dropped them off at the pool that day.)

And even the next year, we believed they came back as adults, and let us get closer in the yard than we would normally have expected.

But, aside from all that, there’s just something so very arresting about this image!

I can’t begin to put it in words.

Disturbing… amusing… fascinating…

… just the normal noises in here…
