Hey Lio snow transportation is supposed to be human powered. Imagine running out of gas in the middle of the Arctic circle and pushing that thing home?
I’m not giving up on this one. A powered vehicle is okay, but racing down on a sled is its own thrill not to be replaced by machines. Dad might say, “Very nice. Now try this.”
We were so poor we used cardboard for sleds.
We were so poor we used cardboard for shoes
Mom’s cooking was so poor we ate cardboard for dinner

It has been too long since I saw a snow disk like dad bought. I don’t think Lio has quite thought through the rocket powered version. Seems like it will do a quarter mile in less than 3 seconds.

Dad, jump on that thing and have some fun!

On a slightly different note, I love the slightly retro look Mr. Tatulli always gives the vehicles ( and robots ) in this strip.

Where’s the fun in that?
Destiny23 about 14 years ago
Well, Lio never claimed to care about the planet anyway…

Saucer sleds and inner tubes were great! No so heavy to carry back up the hill, too.

Sorry, Dad, you’re outclassed…

Oh, you had cardboard? (look up Monty Python’s Four Yorkshiremen)
Dirty Dragon about 14 years ago
Half the fun of sledding is a wipe out where you land softly in some snowbank. I think I’m giving Dad’s sled the nod for “more fun”.

I’d like to know where Lio got the money for that.
joylion about 14 years ago

I wonder, does Lio realize that with that sled, he will only get one trip down the hill? Those afterburners will melt all the snow behind him!

Poor Dad.
