It’s just as well. When Humans show up to see the Flowers Bloom, they tend to Trample them into the Mud.
“In Lake Elsinore, the rolling green hills, splashed with touches of bright orange and purple, were interrupted by moving dark specks — people veering off the paths to find the perfect patch of poppies to pose for a photograph. And many came down the trail with bright-orange souvenirs, plucking the flowers from their beds.”
Flowers bloom not for our appreciation, but for the appreciation of the birds, bees, bats and butterflies they attract for pollination. We’re just lucky enough to be around to admire them, too.

Justin, what a beautiful way to introduce Thomas Gray’s poetry, thank you. Apparently he only published 13 poems.

Just because a human doesn’t see it is no reason to assume a flower’s beauty is wasted. It didn’t bloom for the purpose of pleasing YOU, Mr. Gray!

Be not dismayed, Dear Thomas; many a magnificent intestinal gas release is lost forever in common couch cushions…
