My summary of “Alien”: The adventures of a girl and her cat. (wink)
I do not exaggerate: When the movie was over and the credits started to roll, I sat there thinking, “It’s a trick! It’s not dead! Is it really dead? Tell me it’s dead!” Then I had nightmares for the next three nights. Later, when I heard there was a sequel and that it was to be called “Alien*S*”, I nearly hyperventilated. Great movies!! The first makes your heart pump with fear, the second with excitement. (The others I can take or leave.)
If you’ve ever had the chance to see the original Alien in 70mm on a curved theater screen in stereo, that stomach busting scenewill simply get you every time !
Well, Mom loves you and Dad loves you, but Mom wants you to take home economics in high school so you will know how to live and Dad wants you to take Football in high school so you will know how to survive.
Have any of you ever seen “Dark Star”? It is a 1974 film by Dan O’Bannon and John Carpenter. It is basically an early version of “Alien” by the same people. It leans more towards comedy and I can watch it over and over – “Aliens”? Meh!

I did like Aliens better, but Alien is still a pretty darned good movie.

After watching Alien in the theater, I realized that I should not be watching anymore horror shows.

“Alien” is actually either 116 or 117 minutes long, depending on the cut, not 79 minutes. But maybe the ladies returned too soon.

I’ve been seeing a lot of references to Alien lately. Mostly made by people who were criticizing the Captain Marvel movie.

Why on earth would mom get to pick the movie when she isn’t even going to be there to watch it. She needs to butt out.
