Wow…I would need a whole room to fit all the things that don’t spark joy in my house. Unfortunately, I actually need most of it.
Let’s start with all the paperwork other than the kids’ projects. Now all the clothing, especially my daughter’s school uniforms! I’m not a clothes-horse, and I absolutely HATE the ugly uniforms that are reminiscent of a Catholic private school from the 60’s. Next, everything in the kitchen except the junk food. Then the beat-up furniture.
If I kept only what sparks joy, I would be left with pets (but not their necessary gear), family members, knickknacks and memorabilia, and books. Lots and lots of books.
Yep. That method is useless for me. Marie Kondo’s book would be the only thing in the donations box.

For many people – spot on.

I just need someone to explain to my hubby that my yarn, bead, and fabric stashes get to stay because they DO spark joy. Much joy.
