Tony asked, about 4 hours ago
“Are you goofy?”
No. And I’m not Micky, Minnie, Donald or anyone else from that bunch, either.
Pete’s cruising for a bruising.
Well, gawrsh….uh mean…. ah-hyuck hyuck….
…uh mean… naw…. hoo hoo hoo….
I don’t think so…. ah-hyuck!
Well… maybe sometimes…. a little bit.
Gawrsh.
No I am not goofy, just a little crazy!!!
My wife would do the smart thing by panel 3 and walk away. Once we both had a chance to calm down we can then resolve our differences.
I know this is not Disney, but sometimes I get a little Daffy, and it really Bugs me.
So Mickey and Minnie are in divorce court. The judge says to Mickey, “I’m sorry Mickey but I can’t grant you a divorce based on insanity.” To which Mickey replied, “Who said anything about insanity, I said she’s doing Goofy!”
old joke but not with the word ‘doing’
Would comments be different if male was pushing and threatening to punch female? Just wondering…
You can sure tell who wears the pants in this family.
Spousal abuse is not funny. This is not why I read the comics.
Please, just hit me. Then I’ll enjoy some peace and quiet while you’re being booked for assault and battery.
This makes me nuts!
This is a comic strip!
She didn’t really hit him…. She’s being FUNNY!
They do love each other, but besides both being funny, I think they’re New Yorkers…. and at least Tony is.
That adds a layer of sarcasm.
Look at her face in panel 4.
They both know he’s stronger and bigger….
She’s joking and he’s making faces to play along.
Don’t you have anybody in your lives you joke with that way?
Was the Honeymooners showing abuse?
I thought there was more reason to think Jackie Gleason was being abusive than Peggy,
but everybody knows “to the moon, Alice” was humor and he’d never actually hit her.
It might not play as well today, but I still think the “funny” shows.
Tony wouldn’t be drawing this strip to show real abuse.
It wouldn’t be humor.
