In reality, many who work where food is sold have to go elsewhere to eat lunch. They can’t afford to even eat at their place of work and people think this is just fine.
My first job was selling cotton candy at an amusement park. It was one of several concession stands at the park. One of the perks was a discount on the food. I can’t stand cotton candy. Fortunately they had a plethora of other unhealthy food at the other concessions, but as a teenager who cares.
To tell you the truth, I don’t recall ever eating any of the food we sold. The following year and for the rest of my high school and college career, I worked in an Italian deli. One of the perks there was free lunch! and did I ever take advantage of that!
Peter, you have to take into account the absurdly high movie theater prices. Head down to your local convenience or grocery store and you’ll find much better deals on Milk Duds. That’s where I get all my candy that I bring when I go to the movies.
