It’s Ramirez, so he’s putting words into her mouth that she never said. And he’s assuming that his “readers” are offended by what they heard of what she did say. I wasn’t offended, and so far as I know none of my friends or acquaintances were offended.
Her point, which she certainly made in a clumsy way, aimed at an American Muslim audience, was that even though there was no real connection between the broad Muslim-American community and a small band of fundamentalist Wahhabi terrorists, the broad community was facing sanctions and limits.Most Christian Americans had no association with the genocidal Serbian Christian fanatics, and weren’t sanctioned for their murders. And Omar didn’t describe the terrorists as “very fine people.”
