I toss peanuts out for the squirrels. I separate out the triple-bean ones (peanuts, not squirrels) to toss to any squirrel(s) that doesn’t run away, but approaches the window when I open it (some catch on pretty fast).

Sometimes I even – accidentally – hit them with the peanut. They never seem to mind that.

“That’s not optimal.” Way to avoid saying “Oh Crap, I’m feeding the squirrels!”

“That’s not optimal!”. Politicalese! The Next move is to project the screw-up on your adversary!

It looks like Bucky is giving a little karma to the squirrels.

    “Hmmm….that’s not optimal.”

This just became my new catch phrase….for everything. And yes, I realize that’s not optimal. But I’m gonna do it anyway.

Squirrels, monkeys, ferrets, all not optimal in Bucky’s world.

We came up with an answer to squirrels raiding the hanging birdfeeder. We bought 3 wide shallow plastic bowls at the dollar store and drilled a hole in the bottom of each one. Then hung them, one above the other, on the wire attaching the feeder to the tree branch, like little umbrellas for the feeder. Squirrels can’t get past them and the seed is safe. The birds knock so much on the ground, they still get a good feed.

We get squirrels at the bird feeder. They do clean up the sunflower seeds on the patio deck and give the dogs something legit to bark at.

I greased the pole to the feeder. It was funny to see a squirrel jump on the pole and slide back down with a “what the hell” look on its face. The grease soon was worn off and the squirrels were back up to the feeder. Let them share.

I think he secretly wants terrorists. It gives him an excuse for other excesses.

so many people feed the squirrels in my grandma’s neighborhood that they pretty much approach anyone who walks by just in case they have a morsel to throw, it’s almost like they’re our pets now.
