I think Adrian’s inspiration for all the rescue strips must be the recurring drama on the North Shore mountains.

Good for Monty. I meet so many people on mountain tracks wearing nothing close to necessary gear I sometimes want to scream. Even worse when they are bringing kids (wearing flip flop too) with them. Which is usually when I grit my teeth and explain politely that the kids are going to get hurt a bit later because (insert obstacle involving wailing kids and hurt toes). I even met a couple starting the trail pushing a pram!

Hopefully the hiker was at least wearing some pants or shorts too.

Where I live, that hiker would receive a bill for all costs of rescue, including Monty’s doggy treats.

Monty has way more brain cells than that hiker!

And stick to roaming the hills, no mountains.

Probably was searching for cell phone service in a dead zone and never looked up once.

The hiker got off light, Monty should’ve chewed his butt.

Hike alone, feed the bears, dress inappropriately, climb over safety barriers, don’t bring water, and drink lots of beer. Thank you, your local search and rescue group.
