This past weekend, my computer-savy friend removed a virus that was running my GoComics site. It showed as being StormyGreats….or something like that. Glad it is gone, but I have to wonder how it got there and for how long it had been there.
virustotal .com is also useful for checking files BEFORE you open them (say, that ImportantReport.docx or SpecialFile.zip you got from the boss – or from some random email).
You can also do that in Jottie: https://virusscan.jotti.org (you may need /en [or other 2-letter language code] at the end, in certain places).
Better yet, do it in something like Sandboxie (from, no surprise, Sandboxie.com): download Sandboxie and install it, then open the Sandboxed Web Browser, and download and test those files from there. That way, if they do turn out to be bad, your computer is safer.

Spam is a horribly unhealthy thing! But it’s delicious on crackers, lol!

If the Pythons got a royalty for every unsolicited e-mail that was ever sent think how wealthy they would be.
