A close friend who is a surgeon told me, in the 1980’s that AIDS was “just” a homosexual disease. He was a medical doctor and born-again Christian. We argued a lot.

HIV and AIDS don’t kill you. They just nuke your immune system from orbit. When that’s done, a minor cold or flu CAN kill you.
