I follow you on the first half but it lives close as I add to it. It’s also one of the documents to be opened on my demise. I also keep an updated list of everything my executor will need.
I have them in a password app and that is password protected, so I need to remember one. Then I feed them into a program I wrote that scrambles them in various ways and I cut and paste to the login. Same way each time of course. Makes it a lot easier to type in. If I have to enter the scrambled version, it takes me several tries, LOL!
I made a really bad mistake when I used the fingerprint password function on my iPhone. It did not accept my fingerprint, and froze. Had to go to the nearest Apple store(actually had to make an appointment)to get it unfrozen.
