My problem is they take the fun out of the game. At this year’s College World Series ESPN would not stop talking about the respected Florida State coach who is in his last year and while he had been many times to the World Series he had never won and wouldn’t it be swell if they win. Yeah, unless you are rooting for another team and don’t enjoy the guilt trip. We used to just enjoy the game. I don’t want to know who rescues puppy or has a sick sister, all I want is for someone to tell me the score and let me watch the game.

So what would pass for Prime Minister’s Question Time on a C-SPAN-esque sports channel? Contract negotiations?

You mean what ESPN used to be, a long time ago? If I could drop them and lower my bill I would.

Since Chris Berman left, ESPN is but a shadow of its former self.

It’s all because there aren’t enough games on.

It’s a tossup for most obnoxious sports commentator between Stephen A and Skip Clueless. I’ll give the edge to Stephen A.

Ah, Google tells me S. A. Smith is an ESPN “sports television personality.”

Professional sports, like life, is full of idiots.
