Astrologers were aware of this. “The dawning of the age of Aquarius” means that the Sun will be in that sign at the Spring equinox. Believers in Mithras tried to change it to Pisces a couple thousand years ago, but the mainstream stuck with the traditional calendar, starting with Aries.

I’m going to ignore the change. As a September Libra I wear opals accented with dark blue sapphires- beautiful, and I’m sticking with it!

ChukLitl, you’re correct, “The Age” we’re in is determined by the zodiac constellation, against which the sun rises on the morning of the spring equinox.

Because of precession, we are slowly leaving the Age of Pisces and entering the Age of Aquarius. (Each ‘Age” lasts ~2100 years.) And the “dates” of all the zodiac constellations slowly shift accordingly.

Astronomers have known all this since Ancient Egypt. I have no idea why it’s ‘news’ all of a sudden …

They noticed when it shifted from the bull to the ram, but it’s still just a calendar. It’s useful for tracking the the movement of planets across the starfield. Early scientist were observing the universe to try to figure out how things work & got tired of people asking why they cared about such, so they said it would let them tell the future. They proved it by foretelling eclipses. Love life & lottery numbers, not so much.

Just a bunch of people trying to effect enough change in the existing system in order to aquire new copywrites so they can make a buck. Don’t need it. Don’t want it. Don’t care.
