The Pope is a fan of Patti Smith. She sang “O, Holy Night” at one of the Vatican Christmas concerts a few years ago, and he had her back again the following year. There are videos of him speaking to her… and of the performance I just referenced… on YouTube.
On her album “Banga!” she has a song about the possible fate of the natural world. Here are a few lines…

I understand why they are lining up. So many of them are becoming extinct & they probably think this would be the answer to the problem. As long as man isn’t aboard!
