I had one in a fairly inconspicuous corner of my kitchen for months once. Apart from trimming back the web a couple of times after she got a little territorial (she was growing so fast I know she didn’t need that much food-catching paraphernalia), our interactions mainly involved me greeting her every time I went into the room.
I named her Chloe. Seemed like a good name for a spider.
Our security guard is like that. We came back from lunch one day and the guard was up on his security desk like Jimbo is. The spider on the floor was a pretty big one!
Only in Sci-fi thrillers do spiders stalk and attack humans. H-o-w-e-v-e-r, that said, the brown recluse is known to choose clothes piled on the floor for days!
I am terrified of spiders, some more than others, depending on color and body shape. But I did have a “pet” spider who hid out somewhere during the day and then came to its web on the outside of my storm door at night. I tried to discourage this by sweeping the web away but it kept coming back so I named it Charlotte

I won’t kill spiders either Peekaboo, they eat bugs I hate even more (like flies and mosquitoes)
