Does anyone still say ‘mondo’? My favorite dictionary lists it but I haven’t heard it in MANY decades.
By amazing coincidence, just yesterday I was thinking about the bizarre 1960s movie “Mondo Cane” (A Dog’s Life) which is the source of the word in English. Something reminded me of the scene in which a burly British-colonial-native soldier beheads an ox with one stroke of a machete. Sometimes I am amazed and sometimes appalled at what my subconscious mind contains.
Be ready to call 911. Wallace please don’t kill yourself then your folks would be left with Sterling and sterling he isn’t. (sterling as in something highly prized.)
And this is the kind of things Rousseauean minded parents reminisce about. The survivors, that is, talk about the good old days. Instead of parents caring, they let them go to do what they want to alone with zero supervision. Which is right?

Reminds me of a picture that’s been floating around the interwebs for years. The version I have has the caption “Why Boys Need Parents”.

You like your skin? You’re about to erase a good bit of it.
