Herbie is not a slow car! From IMDb: Herbie’s last film was ‘Herbie: Fully Loaded’ (2005), playing four different roles: Junk Yard Herbie, Tricked-Out Herbie, Demolition Derby Herbie and NASCAR Herbie. 38 different VW Beetles were used in this production, and Herbie achieved a top speed of 132 MPH during his NASCAR racing scenes.
Funny and Clever. However, by today’s definition, I’d say that makes well over 90% of all computer using Americans: Geeks. (I’m in the 10% but just barely!)

The Love Bug and Mad Magazine. Two items now relegated to the past. We’ll miss you, Alfred.

Well, yeah – speed limits mean a Ferrari goes the same speed as a Fiat in most real world applications.
Plus, I’m online a lot more than I’m driving.

Wanting a classic “Beetle” is probably a sign of being a geek.

That was quick getting Alfred E. Newman in just as Mad Magazine closes. Coincidence?

I love the “drawn out dramas”, Spy VS Spy and “The Lighter Side Of”.

To bad the internet in the USA is slower than a VW Beetle. Slowest in the “civilized” world. Thanks to the FCC.

I mourn for MAD; I was with it when it began (“Panic” etc) and grew up and old along with it, but along the way I learned to laugh at the world…
