Surprisingly how much knowledge Calvin has for a kid of his age. He even knows that he does not have two X chromosomes, it is almost weird ;)

The kid’s pretty artistic to make a snake out of snow with a fully detailed mouth!

That snow snake sure looks like it was a lot of work.

Some day I gotta have a long talk with that boy.

Nay verily, you last two! They just have different definitions of what it means to enjoy life. And if they only knew it, each is equally valid.

And no, Calvin, it’s not a matter of having one or two X chromosomes, It’s a matter of Suzie being INFJ and you being her Contrast, ENFP. Your behaviors are so consistent with those paradigms…

When Hobbes is not around Calvin seems to talk to Suzie more politely. Or am I reading something thats not there.

I always thought that Calvin was more of an ESPN.

You all miss the point. About 1% of men in fact DO have two X chromosomes (as well as a Y). They are virtually ALL in prison.

Dos Equis isn’t all bad. I’ve had several good weekends with it.

I love Calvins imagination, with or without Hobbes. Childhood is such fun.

I wouldn’t mind if my little boy turns out just like Calvin :)

How did he know about it?????…I am in 10th class & now I know about this XX chromosome…really…how did calvin know about this???

If Calvin wanted Suzie to react non-hostile he should have made an appeal to be saved by shouting ‘Save me’ or something like that. He should have known it is unnatural for some one caught by the snow snake to worry about saving some one else’s life and Suzie would easily see through that.

It’s so strange that Calvin knows these adult things. It’s almost like an adult was writing his lines! But that’s crazy talk, Calvin is a real boy.

I agree, Calvin is a real boy, all boy. He reminds me so much of a little guy my wife watches who actually DID know about chromosomes, and had a phenomenal grasp of scientific issues and concepts not just for his age, but for just about any kid of any age, when he was 5. His younger brother is just as much of a delight to be around, and that kid’s only 3! Calvin lives …

First the snow goons, and now this. An innocent little kid shouldn’t have to deal with so many cold-blooded killers.

Seems like Calvin would like to be swallowed by a snow snake! Then he could work his way through the digestive tract and come out the other end. Every little boy’s dream!!

For Calvin to bad this is an old strip. He would enjoy see about the human body or animals.

We tried to make things similar to the snow snake. It is almost impossible to get snow to stay in thin extended shapes like that if you don’t have some sort of thin framework for it to stick to. Bent coat hangers covered with t-shirts worked pretty well.

(but we got yelled at just like calvin would have…)

1958…Just a few months from my high school graduation. And Lucy is just as cranky as Susie is. Maybe they learned that behavior at home, huh?

I never saw a snake of snow. I never hope to see one. But I can tell you anyhow I’d rather see that even contemplate the possibility of being eaten by one.

Lucy and Suzie are midget adults - they skipped childhood altogether. Hopefully as Calvin grows older, the wonderful imaginative little boy will remain intact in him throughout his life. Calvin - the Picasso of snow…

He’s a boy. No sibs. Gotta have fun when you think it up. Just using what he’s got. After all, a stick, or a cool tiger, or snow, always beats that stuff you get for Christmas. :)

Our old cat used to roam around all during the night between little naps!

She would also come and jump up on the bed and kneed my chest (with sharp claws, but gently) if she happened to run out of food or water.

I’ve read that cats take a ‘cat nap’ about 64 times a day, dahawk.
