It is a matter of easier to eat.The bowl is full, but eaten in the middle, shake it so the food moves back into the center where it is easier to eat.

Ally (who is in the profile) hasn’t learned yet about the shaking, but does know the yummy canned stuff comes from the fridge.

and remember, those little pieces don’t count as food…

My mom’s old boss Sam had bad teeth & used to eat very carefully around all the bones in his canned food (the fish flavors were the only ones he’d eat).

Sis’s boss Onyx has no such problem in spite of having only her 4 tiny lower front teeth left – when she got dry food (which she doesn’t any more because it’s too high in carbs for her diabetes), she’d just swallow it whole! Her favorite treat now is freeze-dried chicken, which is a good place to hide the every-other-day aspirin she gets for her arthritis. More often than not, she vacuums up the pill along with the chicken. Easiest way EVER to pill a cat!

With wet food, you just fluff it up with a fork.
