We had a cluster of black gum trees in our yard which was visible from my bedroom window.

One day, my dad cut the trees down. For years afterward, whenever I looked out the window there was something dark and shadowy in that part of the yard.

It was really spooky. Now, I know what they were…ghost trees.

Ghost trees… Toad zombies… Doesn’t anything just stay DEAD in this town? What, is Cul de Sac built over a Hellmouth? There’s even scattered lycanthropy.

Maybe Alice is destined to be a Slayer. And Dill will be her Watcher, keeping tabs on everything through the mail slots…

I pass a couple of HUGE ghost trees on the way out of the subdivision every morning on the way to work. Still ticked at the power company for cutting them down. I understand why right-of-ways have to be clear, but in this case, it would have been cheaper and easier to move the wire- and the trees were there first.
