My dad used to have trouble with names of us kids (especially the boys). Of course he new all our names, but he would keep saying the wrong one. Like, if he was talking to Daniel, he might say. “Jim, John. Paul…*SAM!”* There is no Sam in our family.
Looking at 100 today. Waiting for a bit more daylight to start work in the garden before it gets too hot, plus walk Fred, and clean out my car. Our few neighbors are also u early so I need not be quiet. Can hardly wait for fall.
My wife had a young, pretty, and “less smart” coworker who dated a progression of young men named Scott. If she cried out, “Oh, Scott” in bed, she had the right name.
I thought this was interesting!!! From the Old Farmer’s Almanac: When Dog Days End, Cat Nights Begin. Sirius, the star of the Dog Days, is no longer visible in the predawn sky. Cat Nights begin tomorrow. According to Irish legend, witches could change into a cat 8 times. On the 9th time, on August 17, they could not change back—hence the expression, “a cat has 9 lives.” Learn more: Almanac.com/calendar/date/2019-08-17
To paraphrase Shakespeare, Chesney by any other name would still be an obnoxious jerk. On another note, today is my brother’s birthday. To celebrate, we got a pizza and ate it in the park.
I am an only son, but my mother could not remember my name. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather on my father’s side were named Robert, and on my mother’s side her brother, father and grandfather are all named Robert. I was always called Bob-Don.

You’ve got ONE “helper” you ungrateful cat. Unless Lydia, Doris and the rest are helpers who have already thrown you out!

Yo yellow cat. Your name is…? Chester, Charles, Chumley?
It’s so hard to keep track of the jerks!
And what is he doing leading Bluebell down the snarky path? Shame on you!

Today is:
National Roller Coaster Day I really don’t do roller coasters.
National Airborne Day. I don’t fly – not even in airplanes. I’ve done it before, but not in years and years.
National Rum Day. I don’t do rum either.
National Tell A Joke Day. So here’s one I can actually do. Here’s my joke:
Man #1: “Yesterday. I got a real nice used car for my wife.”Man #2: “I know your wife. It sounds like you got a good deal.”
