shytimes2, it was a real product. And youā€™re in for a treatā€¦ Dr. Seuss was an artist for its advertising, and did a series of cartoons based on the slogan, ā€œQuick, Henry, the Flit!ā€ You can see his work for Flit and other advertisers here. You might also want to look for his book, ā€œThe Tough Coughs As He Ploughs the Doughā€, which contains his early advertising and other work.

We donā€™t have the benefit of shytimes2 and his post, but I believe it related to a series of ads based on the line ā€œQuick, Henry, the FLITā€. There are many and Dr Seuss is responsible for lots of them plus ads for other brands, before his characters entered the field of childrenā€™s entertainment:

Puzzle night! This one, because of its horizontal layout, is actually easy to solve in a top-bottom configuration rather than a side by side. I got em fairly quickly this time.

Calling all puzzlers and Cleo followersā€¦

Itā€™s Saturday on Sherpaā€¦. and time to test your difference-finding skillsā€¦

    In the February 13th, 2021 ā€œCleo and Company!ā€

    Ā

Which you can see right here:

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

or use my side by side version:

    https://i.postimg.cc/TYxVCNX8/Cleo-nine-differences-Feb-13th-21.png

    Ā

Your choice, as alwaysā€¦ but I have to say, this is one of those rare timesā€¦

when the puzzle is drawn in such a short (or as it prefers to be called, ā€œvertically challengedā€), wide rectangleā€¦

some of you might prefer the top-and-bottom-layered Sherpa versionā€¦

instead of the wide-angle CineramaĀ® appearance of the panels laid out sideways.

Not meā€¦ but some of you.

    Ā

Such a sweet, innocent little doggieā€¦..

Awwwā€¦ especially if you think 3/4 the height of her ā€œmistressā€ is what youā€™d call ā€œlittle.ā€

And such a cute, fuzzy, wee squirrelā€¦ NOT.

Cā€™mon, Claraā€¦ who wouldnā€™t want to dynamite that toothy, crazy thing, with the obviously maniacal laugh?

I found 10 differences. Is the tenth one the fact that I didnā€™t have to turn the tablet length wise to see both panels like I did the last time this one was on?

Good morning, Ballardeers and Rotiferā€¦! Q Date: 337.98719.93 National Tortellini and National Cheddar Day on this snowy 4 degree morning.

Been quite a while since Iā€™ve seen that ACME bug fogger, which Iā€™m sure the Darwin haters had banned.

Cleo has a propensity for overkill when it comes to boom booms.

Northern Tier Ballardeers need to protect themselves and their fur babies. Tonight and tomorrow are going to be the coldest Valentines Day ever recorded in the Chi ā€“ Town area.

Yā€™all stay warm and cuddled. (((((Hugs!)))))

    Oh no!

    I guess I finally did what Iā€™m always afraid Iā€™ll doā€¦

I fell asleep without posting the solution!

    Sorry, difference hunters.

    Ā

Some of you are probably still asleep, or havenā€™t done the puzzle yetā€¦. so maybe you havenā€™t noticed.

    Donā€™t tell each other, OK?

Here it is, right hereā€¦ just pretend itā€™s a few hours agoā€¦ all right?

Meanwhile,,I was thinking about that squirrelā€¦ his face looks so familiar.

At first I thought he might be part Naugaā€¦ the creature from which we get Naugahyde.

    https://laughingsquid.com/wp-content/uploads/Nauga.jpg

    Ā

But then I rememberedā€¦ I think I posted a picture of him for the strip this puzzle came fromā€¦

    Buster Brownā€™s dog, Tige!

    Ā

Until I was about 8, my mother cut my hair in a Buster Brown haircutā€¦ and I wore Buster BrownĀ® shoesā€¦

so I always thought Buster Brown was a girl, like me.

    But Tige terrified me.

    Ā

Btwā€¦ like Henry, the Flit shooter, before he was used in advertising, Buster Brown was a comicā€¦ the creation of a famous artistā€¦

Richard Outcault, who created the Yellow Kidā€¦ whom some call the first newspaper cartoon character.

Rotifer, Iā€™m not mysterious. I just have two jobs that keep me busy. Iā€™ve put up solar panels and have started a small vegetable farm that keeps me busy. I donā€™t have a husband or kids because of the way things are getting. And it looks like things are going to get bad this year and for the next couple of centuries. With everything Iā€™ve done, Iā€™ll survive everything for awhile. Iā€™ve also downloaded about ten terabytes of movies and TV shows to watch. Itā€™s one reason why I have the solar panels. I bet Clara would have loved to have gotten one of those Valentineā€™s Day cards from Claude. Happy Valentineā€™s Day.
