How did Horace get a house or apartment & car then? Credit? He really needs to use his superior abilities as a Houyhnhnm to get ahead or at least become comfortable again. And grow hands!
He can start a business dealing with the kind of bizarre things he is surrounded with. A paranormal investigator…and “tree hunter” to catch those trees that walk. Unless he is a “divvy” who can find and pick out real expensive antiques. Or maybe aid the police in some way. A Private Eye with a twist. Water witch? What can he do besides free imprisoned “trees”?
As we often see him in pastoral settings, I assumed he is eating like a horse. I graze from rising to retiring myself, but on human-appropriate nourishment.
