I had a 70 pound Lab/Shar-Pei mix that had a stare that stopped other dogs in their tracks, no biting, no barking. I really admired that ability in her.
This reminds me of the time I was walking on the sidewalk, passing a yard, when a large dog ran up to the hedge barking furiously. I turned to the dog and barked back at him. He backed up a few steps and barked louder. He would not approach the hedge.
