Iâm waiting for the tray to dump that on his head. He missed the last three Club Work Parties. There are certain aspects of pulleys he doesnât understand.
It seems that his end to the rope should be longer. With what appears to be 3 support ropes (Ideal Mechanical Advantage of 3), he would have to have his end move 3 feet just to move the tray 1 foot.
When Chad was but a lad he played with Tinker Toys and Erector Sets. In his teens me became aware of block and tackle, pulleys and gears. Now as a retired gentleman he puts all that knowledge to work for himself making life so much easier and in a relaxed setting at home. Ahhh, retirement.

I a little surprised that the periodical isnât called the Block and Tackle Monthly (since that is what a system of pulleys is called).

Looks like a âHeath Robinsonâ contraption. He was known as the English âRube Goldbergâ, but more fanciful.

It reminds me of something I saw in a French movie, âAlexandre le Bienheureuxâ.

Personally, when it comes to sandwiches, Iâd prefer a turbo-lift, food replicator, or even a transporter.
