Scooter is eagerly awaiting the little squirrelâs departure from the tree, Jerome would be well advised to remove himself from the vicinity before reading that part.
Of wild animals and pets: I was walking my cat one day. I was up on the road while she was temporarily on the other side of a hurricane fence paralleling my course along a creek bed. A lost fawn walked up to her and began following her as she edged warily away from it. My cat finally jumped onto the side of a pine tree and put it between herself and the fawn. The fawn came around the tree. There was a momentary tableau as the fawn stretched out its neck to sniff my cat, while my cat detached one fore claw and lifted it in preparation to strike.
âHold it! I donât think we want to do this.â I said. My cat stood down. The fawn turned away and walked into the trees, still lost.
Of course, it was the one day of the month I had not brought my camera. :)

Maybe a wake-up story instead of a bedtime story.

The bookâs happy ending will be a sad ending for the listener (the dog).
The narrator should change the story to include how his dog could âhelpâ the squirrel in its predicament.

âŚand we discover the tree is big enough for both of them and their friendsâŚ.Todayâs âBlissâ comic happens to take the theme from here.

Scooter prefers the story about the overweight squirrel that canât run very fast, but this one will do.

Itâs only a matter of time before people will buy virtual reality squirrel-chasing apps for their be-goggled dogs.
