Ol’ Rexie used to hate those headphones. Now, after sitting through a few of Gene’s “sock hops,” Rex practically puts them on himself.

When someone wants to march to a different drummer, Gene’s instrument can’t be beat.

At home Gene can live and march to the beat of his own drum.

This comic got me to look something up, and I learned a little. I’ve been writing “straight-laced” all these years, but it turns out that “strait-laced” is correct. They get these things right on Ballard Street.

The dog is the smart one — has his ear plugs on.

Let’s think about this for a minute – imagine what is considered as being ‘strait-laced’ in the world of Ballard Street!
