I once bought some quick grow grass seed thinking that’s a quick way to patch the bare spots on my lawn. Now I permanently have spots that grow quicker than the rest. Didn’t think that threw!
Grass and weeds are tough and hardy. They are used to recovering from grass eating animals. House plants are dainty and delicate. They need a gentle hand and lots of attention. If you had that, you would be married with kids. Just mow the grass and be happy.
I miss doing my lawn (after hip surgery this summer). Looking forward to doing it in March, miss my self-propelled mower sooo much! My yard guy is prob. looking forward to me getting to do my own work again!

Cutting grass and especially watering/fertilizing it just encourages its regrowth. Replace it with native plants.

The best growth I get is weeds in cracks in the concrete.

Transplant some of those weeds into a pot and then you may have better luck!

On the other hand, the poison ivy in the corner is doing great.
