    It reminds of the stunt we pulled as young teen-agers … call the grocery store and ask if the eggs are fresh; then when hearing yes, would say “oh, dear – I hope they aren’t too fresh!”

    Comic strips that are “cropped” to meet publication limitations rely on jokes that can be put on the “edge” of a panel and therefore don’t required as much space? If so, I agree that stretching a point across the Sunday space is not the best use of the concept.
