What, no roll in the mud while you’re out chasing the squirrel? The minute mine would hear the door creek open he would dash out faster the speed of light even if a hurricane was happening, fortunately I have a fenced in yard, otherwise I think he’d end up in Kansas City or heavens knows where! At least until he got hungry again, then he’d show up scratching on the door.
It was absolutely pouring one morning, and when I opened the door for our dog, he looked outside, then up at me and I swanny, his look said “You have Got to be Kidding!!!” Then he turned around, walked over to “his” corner, and curled up with his back to us. Yep. He was not going out in that.
Blazer is not fond of the rain, but he will go do what needs to be done. We had another dog who simply refused to set food off the carport. He was too well mannered to go on the concrete, so he’d just stand there, hunched up, and look pitiful. Talk about “hang dog”! One of us would end up getting an umbrella and taking him out into the yard.
To heck with the squirrel it’s raining outside our Lab Alex would see it coming down and go to the door and bark. He went out in the backyard where he’d run around like a lunatic trying to catch the rain in his mouth. He was in 7th heaven.
