I’ve never heard of a dog doing that.

I think that is an urban myth.

Our dogs never did that!

It’s why I retired early from my advertising position at the local paper. So now I have time to sit and read the comics in the morning. LOL

Only happened in the movies, maybe on a few TV shows, way back when! Most of the dogs back then feared any type of rolled up newspapers.

We owned a newspaper store in England years ago. Very glad we’re out of that business now, we’d find it hard to keep customers.

Years ago, I would have my paper delivered and I taught my Shep/Lab mix to retrieve it from the front yard. It was one of her favorite tricks!

I canceled my home town newspaper a few years ago because it was sold to a syndicate who owns lots of previously local papers. My paper used to be located in my city, written by local people and even printed here. It started having almost nothing about my city on the front page! (It also cancelled Mother Goose and Grim! That was the last straw, lol!)

The union put the paper boys out of business. Now the paper adults throw your paper on your driveway if your lucky.

Frankly, my local hometown newspaper really should shut down. No longer provides any genuine news, not even local news. It’s become nothing more than a bulletin board with poorly structured sentences and misspelled words.

The government will come up with a retraining program costing billions, while these dogs will simply wait for the mailman.

Our dog used to bark at the carrier so I knew the paper was delivered.

When I was a kid, our collie would accompany my mother down our country driveway to the mail/paper box and proudly carry back a few pieces of mail or the paper. Hadn’t thought of that sight for many years until this comic…sniffle, sniffle.

Oh no, what are dogs gonna use for toilets.
