Just getting started here in the North… but my (admittedly old) memories are of the smell of burning leaves, not something that’s done anymore. But common in our suburban neighborhood in the early 1970s. :-)
Did people not have allergies before the 1900s?!?Can’t think of one historical novel that EVER mentions them. . .heroes and heroines with stuffy noses just don’t fly, I guess. . .
You know, the minute anyone says that it’s warm where they are, somebody will say that there’s like 8 feet of snow where THEY are. And both will be right. So I won’t claim that it’ll be around 90 deg here today.

Sunday’s first two panels are usually the ants.
It will reach about 90 here today. That’s why we haven’t closed the pool yet.

I still like the season that brings and end to mosquitoes even if it brings on sniffles and leaf raking.

The Weather Channel had a video online that asked people which they used: Fall or Autumn. The majority of people said they used the word Fall.

Yeah, another hot and humid day here as well. The tomatoes are liking it though.

The ragweed, heat and humidity have my allergies working overtime. I’m taking meds which help some. Hoping for an early frost to kill the ragweed.

Someone sure didn’t get the immune system working well on his model. Such allergic reactions are the immune system overreacting to something.
