    I worked for a company that was owned by another that did background checks. They were approached by NIGERIAN business people. They actually GAVE the company database to the Nigerians for “evaluation”!!! LOL! They folded about a year and a half later and we were sold to some other company.

    This particular record, (055-09-0001) belonged to John D. Sweeney, Jr., age 23, of New Rochelle, New York. The next day, newspapers around the country announced that Sweeney had been issued the first SSN.Miss Fuller’s claim was the first one on the first Certification List and so the first Social Security check, check number 00-000-001, was issued to Ida May Fuller in the amount of $22.54 and dated January 31, 1940.
