The fact that tRump called Pelosi shortly after the announcement of Official impeachment proceedings to talk about a deal is indicative of just how worried he is now. I love that after he asked what it would take to make a deal she told him to make his people obey the law. His allies’ attempts to defend him are weak at best since there is no excuse for his abuse of power or the attempts to cover it up. Hard to say which is the more grievous crime since he’s been so busy publicly covering up his other crimes that many of us have started to become desensitized to them.
Once again, we have the assumption that the Dems will lose after seeking to impeach Trump like the Repubs lost after impeaching Clinton. The problem with that analogy is that Trump is no Clinton. Even with all of Bill’s troubles, he still had a high approval rating. That, as much as anything, had the most effect on the outcome.
Trump’s approvals are regularly below 40% while Clinton’s were over 60%. People generally felt that Clinton lacked their confidence when it came to letting their daughter’s work with him, but the people had great confidence in ability to lead the country.Like Clinton, Trump suffers from a lack of confidence in the area of personal safety but Trump also lacks the people’s confidence in the leading of the country. Indeed, Trump is now being thought of a being a traitor to the nation, as well as an ignorer of law and traitor to the US Constitution.Assuming the voters remain energized and show up at the polls to vote, Trumps days are numbered.
Some republicans think that impeaching Trump is democratic “overreach”, and will result in a Trump “sympathy” vote that will put him in the White House for another four years. Of course, these same republicans ALSO believe that Hillary’s missing e-mails would show that she and the democrats were the REAL Russian colluders and were conspiring to sell America’s uranium to the soviets through the D.C. pizza parlor where they were also selling children for sex. Oh, and by the way, climate change is a hoax, the earth is flat, America faked the moon landing and EVERYTHING is somebody else’s fault!
