there’s actually a real reason why having it unroll over the spool is better. It reduces the risk of you touching the wall in the dark with germ laden dirty hands, and therefore keeps your bathroom cleaner.

Actually makes better sense, unless you have kids or cats.

Does it really matter that much? It’s a matter of personal preference.

My husband and his family have it rolled from underneath. We had a lot of discussions about it. Then we visited his relatives in Italy. The TP was in a box with a lid. It had to be unrolled from underneath. I found this true in other European places.

Can you imagine how glad their parents must have been?
