Growing up, I always thought it was “I GUESS it rains down in Affffrrrriiiccaaaa” until my wife laughed at me. Until right now, I thought it was “I MISS the rain down in”. Huh; 3rd time is the charm.
I live two years in Liberia, West Africa. There were two seasons, dry and wet. The rain that came down was torrential. I lived on the beach and could see a flood of water 5 inches deep flooding into the ocean as far as I could see. I taught in a high school and would have to stop and wait for the rain to ease due to the roar it made.
