I love egg nog…especially warmed (without brandy). It gives it a slightly different flavor. It’s REALLY good. Ever since trying it warmed, I hardly ever drink it cold any more. (My husband & older daughter also love it; the younger daughter…not so much. When we’re having our warmed egg nog, she makes herself a cup of warm milk.)
In Europe, particularly along the shores of the North Sea, we also enjoy a couple of different varieties of eggnog. And, of course, WITH rum! As at goes, sometimes a bit stronger (as eierlikeur, Eierlikör or egglikør which usually come as shots), sometimes a tiny little bit less stronger (as Eiergrog, Eierpunsch or eggnog (UK) shich usually come as long drinks).
Just btw – hot chocolate with (much) rum (German: “Tote Tante”, literally: “dead auntie”) and, hot, strong black coffee with (much) rum and a head of whip (German: “Pharisäer”, literally: “Pharisee”, the Northern German answer to Irish Coffee) are a real recommendation !

I like Jim’s choice of words to use to drinking like “slurrrrrrk”. My favorite one is “hurk” from my favorite strip in my Garfield book.

Eggnog and pecan pie. More calorie intensive and fat laden than a pan of lasagna.

My wife used to buy a quart of eggnog every December. Threw most of it away eventually.
