I once had a phone message from one of my college students in which the student spoke in a gravelly voice with a lot of coughing, explaining that (s)he was too sick to attend our 4-hour lab class that day. Before the connection was broken, however, the students friends all cheered and clapped and said “OK, now that that’s taken care of, lets go to the carnival!” Yep – busted!
I can’t ‘like’ this one, as I am the co-worker who has to work extra hard on the days we are short staffed because of people who do this and model this behavior for the kids.

If the cough is faint, the only thing that ends is the conversation.
