In an argument like this I need to at least partially consider the writer’s intentions. Okay, let’s have a vote. What do you think the cartoonist’s intention is with this arc? Do you believe he’s showing Andy as an ungrateful daughter who doesn’t appreciate her loving mother or is he showing that the woman Andy has dealt with all her life isn’t quite as wonderful as outsiders see her, at least in relating to her daughter?
