Football: When I see a lot of leather panels sewn together, I'm reminded of the Frankenstein monster. Soccer ball: Is that a pointed remark? Foorball: (sigh) Wasted on one so obtuse.
I never really liked the strips with the sports balls. I don’t see much adaptation potential in them as much as the Sunday strips and recurring arcs.
A third panel would have the soccer ball respond with, “What? What did you call me?” in reference to Warden Norton from “The Shawshank Redemption.” :-)

When I see all those hexagons sewn together, with a few pentagons mixed in, I’m reminded of a truncated icosahedron.
