As a college referee for 20 years beginning in my mid 30’s, we had to pass on the field physical fitness tests every summer before the season started. 2 mile run on grass, sprints and agility runs. All graded by times. We needed a doctor’s release each year. I can remember only 1 person that had a heart attack which if you think about it, 75 or so old guys over 20 years is a pretty good result. Now 11 years after I retired, I am still reaping the benefits of those years of training.

Once upon a time when the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs had a medical library and librarian I looked into holding a Colorado Council of Medical Librarians meeting there, but they required outside groups to carry $1M in liability insurance. Most outside groups there use more than a meeting room.
