We are supposed to accept the reality of computers but question the reality of the universe? (This is a variant of the old “how do we know we are not just a brain in a bottle” argument. The young can be excused for such silly musings, but not professional philosophers.)

If I’m just living in a computer simulation, then I definitely work too hard

The Earth is a giant computer being run by the rats, to answer the question of life, the universe, and everything. So, yes, we very well may be simulations in the program.

Maybe this explains the “I’m non-binary” thing – people doing that are vigorously denying that they’re just part of a software program.

Well, they’re some pretty good things with CGI these days. But if I was a computer simulation, I would suspect it’s still in beta.

Just had a flashback to the 60s:

    First Man:

    I think…

    I think I am.

    Therefore I am!

    I think…

    Establishment:

Of course you are, my bright little star…

I’ve miles and miles of files

Pretty files of your forefather’s fruit

And now to suit our great computer

    You’re magnetic ink!
