We had dogs while growing up. In the middle of winter we could tell how cold it was outside without looking at a thermometer, just on how fast they would do their business and return the be let back in.
One time I let the little dog out, I had to step away to answer the phone (this was when they were still attached to the wall, with a cord). After the call, I came back to continue watching my TV show. During a lull in the noise from the TV, I barely hear a “Yip, Yip, Yip”. I forgot the dog outside for 30 minutes. Poor thing, she was nearly frozen solid (not quite, bet I let her snuggle with me to warm up until she stopped shivvering).

That’s easy for him to say, he’s got a fur coat.

My cat used to do that in the summer. He’d sit outside my bedroom window and cry until I came outside with him.

That’s sweet. He’s having such a good time that he wants you all to come out and join him.
