Here’s an issue I haven’t seen discussed anywhere yet (though I am by no means all-inclusive in my reading habits). Since part of the Republican defense strategy is to deflect impeachment by attempting to implicate Hunter Biden (and his father) in Ukrainian corruption related to Burisma, I’ll raise it in this comment.
The issue: How much of the debunked “Crowdstrike – Ukraine’s got the server – etc. etc. etc.” conspiracy theory the right-wingnuts continue to circulate (Jim Jordan and others used it during today’s testimony from Ambassador William Taylor and State Department official George Kent) is a deliberate ploy to deflect 2016 election interference from the Russian troll farm perps so Trump can continue to cozy up to Putin? It seems to me at least plausible to think that Trump owes Russian banks (controlled by oligarchs close to Putin) a ton of money and that Putin uses said debt for leverage over Trump’s behavior. And I wonder further how much of such a connection might be figured out from Trump’s tax returns – maybe that helps explain his extreme reluctance to allow them to be made public.
Perhaps Sir Walter Scott was spot on when he wrote “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”.
Just ask the crazy power hungry Hutus how effective lies were against the Tutsi, Twa, and moderate Hutus. Hundreds of thousands were slaughtered based on lies and persistent hatred drummed up by propaganda groups spread on T.V. and radio.
So far, the Republicans, lawyers and congressmen, seem to be showing a complete collapse of rationality. Special mention goes out to Jim Jordan of Ohio and a Ratcliff from Texas. Sorry, I don’t recall Ratcliff’s first name.

It’s all in your point of view. Tiny is unanimous in his. The rest of our country, not so much, but I am with the guy in the funny hat.

Investigate,? Perhaps. Withhold foreign aid already released by Congress contingent on besmirching a political rival? No.
