When I was old enuff I did a lot of babysitting. That’s why I knew I didn’t want to have kids. ( my personal preference so people don’t jump all over me, please.)

Just think about what you will buy with the money you earned. I would buy clothes patterns (under 50 cents a piece in those days) and material to make my school clothes in junior high and high school. Lots of girls did. Lots of choices then, too. Hours and hours pouring over Simplicity and McCall’s and Butterick’s huge 1960’s pattern books. It was heaven to me.

We used to have a parents group where we’d sit for each other. Fond memories, lol….

The mom doesn’t know her kids very well.

If I had 3 young children I would be too exhausted to START an evening out at 9 pm. Unless this is one of those nutty families who tries to put the kids to sleep at 7 pm. If you put them to bed too early they are awake at 5 am. I like quiet mornings.

Mike, it’s the same with work. Don’t think about going to work and it makes it easier to work.

Children who need to be sat upon when their parents are out.

This little baby-sitting sequence will be the last time we see the Nichols’ boys, Christopher and Richard. Lynn Johnston has said that the association of an affair with the Nichols parents soured her on the characters and she decided to remove them and the first characters to go are the boys. The setup she had been doing the last few years to establish Christopher as a love interest for Elizabeth is scrapped. In her book The Lives Behind the Lines Lynn Johnston explains that the Nichols kids were transferred to a French school different from Elizabeth and Michael’s, but that detail never appears in the comic strip.

So for the fans, enjoy Richard and Christopher for one last time!!

I hated those kids last time he babysat them. I am not looking forward to the rest of this series. Lets get back to Tiffany.
