Yesterday I opined that I would love to have Dr Hill come and scold me in her loverly manner of speaking, but I draw the line a quartering. No Quartering.
Amendment III doesn’t mention When a punishment was “cruel and unusual.” There was a time when being drawn and quartered wasn’t so unusual, cruel maybe, but not unusual. Same with flaying, burning at the stake, ….
THIRD AMENDMENT to the United States ConstitutionQuartering of SoldiersPassed by Congress September 25, 1789. Ratified December 15, 1791. No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. This raises two questions: Is Binkley a soldier? Has his father given permission?

Since this is an updated strip, I can’t help but remember the phrase “Nancy Reagan school of child rearing” from the distant past.

Well, Berkeley has already drawn him. The natural next step is to do the “quartered” thing. It’s always good to follow protocol.
