Reminds me of the ‘Metalocalypse’ episode where one of the members of super-rich metal band Dethklok was secretly playing in a Dethklok tribute band at a local dive. Soon the rest of the members joined (and threw out the original members), living on complimentary beer and staying in a camper van under an overpass.

A VERY long time ago I was in a bar in Aspen, CO. There was a local band plunking and sawing away. All of a sudden they stopped when this guy walked up to the stage and said, “Do you mind guys? I feel like playing tonight.” John Denver played for about an hour, then walk out of the bar.
