I loved those paper boxes with the lids as moving boxes. The law firms and hospitals had tons of those. I could fit 25 of those into my little Yaris hatchback!
Liquor stores generally get boxes 3+ times a week, they are sturdy, some have inserts that work great for glasses, bottles, vases, etc., and most of them encourage people to take as many as they want. For free. I’ve bought boxes a few times, but if I move myself, I rely on the kindness of liquor stores.
Try moving one of those UHaul boxes full of books. No, don’t do that, you’ll hurt yourself.
My move to my new apartment required movers with their own boxes, but I also had to move a lot myself. My son told me about U-Haul’s new plastic containers that they rent. They were so much easier to pack and carry. You can also buy the same type of containers for storage at Costco. It was well worth the rental cost.

Whiskey and wine boxes are perfect for glasses – just drop them in, no wrapping and no breakage.

Dan is so my husband. Organized to a fault. It does work best in the end, though.
